POMEROY––A seven-way meet opened the 2024 season here with the Gar-Pal women at the top of the heap and the Asotin men in first place.

The Pirate men tied Gar-Pal for third place with 69 points and the women were seventh with 29 points.

Levi Bowen led the Pirates with firsts in the high jump and pole vault, clearing 5-6 in the high and 11-6 in the pole vault. The 4 X 100 Relay team of Jacob Reisinger, Jett Slusser, Boone Schmidt and Tyler Slaybaugh were first with a 48.76 time.

The women's 4 X 100 team of Haven Kimble, Bethany Zimmerman, Natalia Larios and Carmen Fruh were third with a 59.83 time. Hollie Van Vogt placed fourth in both the 100m. and 400m. dashes, clocking a 14.96 personal best in the 100 and a 1:12.62 in the 400, also a PR.

Tyler Slaybaugh took second in the 100m. in 12:06, and David Tejero was third in both the discus (92-10) and javelin (112-6½).
