This is the 72nd year our nation has set aside a day to pray for our country and its leaders.     POMEROY-The Port of Garfield County Commissioners agreed to pay the Garfield County Road Department for weed spraying and discussed the demolition of Warehouse 3 at their meeting on April 18. The Port will pay $1,480.20 to the County Road Department for spraying edges of the roads on Port property, mowing them, and applying a sterilant.   • County's repeater at Dodge to be placed on Inland Cellular tower

    POMEROY-The Garfield County Board of Commissioners (BOCC) signed a lease agreement and passed a resolution at their meeting on April 24. The lease is for Inland Cellular's cell tower site at Dodge. It will allow Garfield County to place their repeater on the tower, which it more suitable than the current site.     POMEROY-The Garfield County Fire District No. 1 Commissioners (GCFD) discussed grants received as well as possibilities for expanding the training room and crew quarters at their meeting on April 11. The GCFD received a grant from Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response of $73,700, over a period of four years, to pay for volunteer recruitment efforts including professional videos and theatrical showings and 10 sets of new turnouts.     COLFAX–Pirates Sidney Bales and Katie Boyer are pole vaulting well, both athletes taking first in the event at meets last week, the MacDougall Invitational here April 22 and at a NE 2B meet in Clarkston on April 18.
