Colton Slaybaugh (10) leapt high to get his hands on a Trent Gwinn pass in first-quarter action, getting a step on Comet defender Elmer Toftemark (11), while Pirate teammate Trevin Kimble (43) watches the reception from a distance. Slaybaugh's 18-yard catch gave Pomeroy first and 10 on the Naselle 11, setting up the Pirates' first touchdown, Trent Gwinn's 11-yard run.
