March 14, 2024

RICHLAND–The Pirate Golf Tea traveled to Buckskin Golf Club in Richland, Wash., on March 5, for the league jamboree. Pomeroy and Liberty Christian of Richland were the only two teams choosing to participate, according to Head Coach Al Damron.

"For the first outing, I was very pleased with the players' performances," Damron said.

Golfing for the Pirates this season are three juniors, Reggie Ott, Kiersten Bartels and Elena Morfin; Grayson Slaybaugh, a sophomore, and eighth grader Tyler Dixon.

"Although we are relatively young," Damron said, "we have four players with experience and they should compete at a high level, and we could have a few players advance to the State Tournament in Tumwater in May."

Pomeroy hosted a league match at Quail Ridge, Clarkston, on March 12, and travels to Toppenish for a March 20 match.
