Bucs bitten by Bulldogs

Byron Stallcop goes up for a shot, guarded by two Colfax Bulldogs. Stallcop sank seven baskets to lead Pirate scorers with 15 points, including one free throw, in Pomeroy's 74-39 loss to Colfax at home last Friday.

POMEROY–The Colfax Bulldogs came to town and put together four strong quarters to hand the Pomeroy Pirates a 74-39 loss in the season opener Friday.

The Pirates hosted Walla Walla Valley Academy Tuesday and St. John-Endicott-LaCrosse visits the Pirate court Friday, then the Buccaneers visit Palouse Saturday, Dec. 14.

Except for a strong third quarter, the Pirates were tepid in scoring.
