    POMEROY–The Garfield County Transportation Authority (CTA) board changed a position from an hourly to a salaried pay schedule, and received updates on ongoing projects at their meeting on December 19. The pay schedule for the position of Operations Manager was changed from hourly to salaried, meaning that pay for the number of hours scheduled between paydays will be averaged so that the amount will be consistent between paychecks.     POMEROY–Brad Gingerich celebrated his retirement on December 15, at the Pomeroy Pharmacy, where he has worked for more than 45 years. The celebration was small and consisted mostly of regular customers and friends who stopped in for a brief moment to congratulate the couple.     POMEROY–The Garfield County Public Health District board passed several resolutions, including their 2023 budget, and discussed an ending grant as well as a new logo at their meeting on December 19.     Washington state has been granted a waiver to federal law allowing it to offer health insurance and subsidies to noncitizens who unlawfully reside in the United States but who live within Washington state’s borders.     WALLA WALLA–Walla Walla Community College (WWCC) will resume instruction for drivers seeking a commercial driver's license (CDL) in March 2023. To support the return of CDL instruction at WWCC, the college received a three-year, $623,000 grant from the State of Washington to provide scholarship assistance to students.
